Suspected Hindu fundamentalists attack SFI activists in Surathkal

Surathkal, Feb.2: Unidentified persons of a fundamentalist wing attacked some students who were returning from the school annual day function, in the late hour of Monday night.

 

Victims of Attack

 

According sources in the school, the students while returning from school, misbehaved with some of girls, who were having food in a Chinese food stall near to krishnapura. But other sources said that, boys were peeped into a green room, where the girl students were changing their dresses. But the exact cause for the attack still not known.

Those who included in the victims of attack were the first year PUC students of Govindadas College. The students were on their way back to home, after attending a school annual function at Krishnapura. It is suspected that, the victims were member of the Students Federation of India (SFI). It is alleged that these students have been participating in the SFI camp from two weeks.

The injured in attack is identified as Muneer, Nizam, Yakub, Azaruddin, Akram, Noufal, Alraf, Althaf. The gravely injured Nizam has been adimitted in a private hospital.

The SFI who vehemently condemn the attack staged the protest in front of DC Office on February 2, Tuesday.


The President of SFI, Jeevan Raj Kuttar, who led the protest said that the students power is stronger than the Bajarangdal.


He also urged to arrest the miscreants, who attacked seven members of SFI, including student leader Muneeb. If police fails to take a necessary action, a wide protest will be organized in the district, he warned.


Vasudev Uchil, Ali Hasan and Imthiaz Ali Khan were present at the protest.
