Mangalore, Mar 23: “The newly constructed Ram Mandir at Nehru Maidan is so beautiful that one feels compelled to preserve it as a monument. Let us hope to see it at Ayodhya,” said Shri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Gurudeva Datta Samsthan, Odiyoor, during a stage programme organized as part of Ramotsava, which has been organized under the joint auspices of Bajarang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, and Shri Ramotsava Committee, at Nehru Maidan on March 23.
The Swamiji also said that the efforts of the Hindu organization in managing a programme of such magnitude must be appreciated.
The government has passed the anti cow slaughter bill in honor of the Hindu faith, he said, adding that the world will live peacefully if only the government implements laws to curb conversion and terrorism.
Shri Komkodi Padmanabha presided over the function. Advocate Shambu Sharma made the welcome speech.
District-in-charge Minister Krishna J Palemar, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Mayor Rajani Dugganna, MLA Yogish Bhat, Captain Ganesh Karnik, Manohar Thulajrama, and Ravindranath Rai were also present for this programme.
Puranik flags off Ramothsav
Mangalore, March 23: Prof B M Puranik, the chief of Ramothsava Committee, flagged off the 3-day Ramothsava in front of the Rama Temple, which has been newly constructed at Nehru Maidan, Mangalore, on March 23, Tuesday.
This programme is organized under the auspices of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajarang Dal, and Ramothsava Committee to celebrate the birth anniversary of Shri Rama.
Sharan Pumpwell and Geetha, the newly wedded members of the Shri Rama Sene, offered a Tharaka Homa after the hoisting of the flag and the lighting of the lamp.
The gopura is build along the lines of a Tirupathi Temple; and the architectural design was created by Suvarna Arts Mulky. A sum of Rs 1.5 lakh was spent on the temple.
Kenya Ravindranath Rai, K Shambhu Sharma, Muralidhar Rao, and many other dignitaries were present.
