Mangalore, Oct 20, 2014: Tracking criminals in this modern age when their modus operandi has changed and has turned unpredictable has become a big challenge to the Police Department, said Dr Venkat Rao, Vice Chancellor of National Law School of India University, Bangalore.
Speaking at a daylong seminar on ‘Cyber Law and Cyber Security” organised at SDM Law College premises in the city on October 19, Sunday under the aegis of SDM College of Law and Centre for Postgraduate Studies, Research Centre, he said traditional methods of investigation have found to be of no use in tackling modern day crime. He also said better research and technology has become a must to deal with such crimes.
He stated that the law school of Bangalore is among the 16 law schools chosen by the government to work in bettering cyber crime detection technology and also to create awareness.
SDM Law College Principal P.D. Sebastian presided over the function. Prof. T.V. Subbarao, Professor of National Law School and several others were present.
