Mangalore, Sept. 19, 2011: The people of MCC’s Tiruvailu ward staged a protest in front of the MCC building today. In his protest address, CPI (M) Secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal said that Tiruvailu has not seen any development so far and urged the MCC to conduct urgent repairs and develop the ward.

Accusing the BJP-led state government of having done nothing for the development of Mangalore, he said that Tiruvailu ward doesn’t even have proper drainage facilities with drainage water flooding the roads. The ward also lacks footpaths, he added.

Further, he said that the funds sanctioned for the development of MCC’s 60 wards are being distributed only to 4 – 5 wards.

Accusing the MCC of distributing funds unequally among the corporators of the 60 wards, CPI (M) Unit Secretary Gangayya warned that if all the people of the under-developed wards take to the streets in protest, the MCC officials will find themselves helpless.

CPI (M) Secretary Honnayya Amin and many others were also present.
