Trace origin of Covid-19 infection at First Neuro Hospital : Minister’s directive to officials

Mangaluru, May 07, 2020:   Dakshina Kannada District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary has instructed the Deputy Commissioner and District Health Officer  to trace the origin of the Covid-19 infection at the First Neuro Hospital at Padil and submit a report to the government.

 

The Minister’s directive came during an emergency meeting convened  on May 6, Wednesday evening after three  tested positive for Covid-19 in the district.

He also directed the administration to seek the help of a high level team of medical experts to arrive at a conclusion. Such a report can   clear the confusion in the minds of the people as to what was the root cause for the spread of the infection in the district.

 District Health Officer Dr Ramachandra Bairi said  already information is being collected on the patients and their contacts in the hospital.  He also said as more Covid-19 tests are being done, the results  are getting delayed at the  Covid-19 laboratory at Wenlock Hospital.
