Train coach catches fire at Kannur station: CCTV shows stranger entering train

Kasargod, June 01, 2023: Fire was noticed in one coach of the Alappula-Kannur Executive Express which was stationed at the Kannur Railway station on June 1, Thursday morning. No one was injured in the mishap.

The cause of the fire is not known. Fire service personnel rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire. The coach that caught fire was separated from the train.

Police have checked the CCTV footage and it has been gathered that fire was noticed in the train after a stranger entered the coach.

Investigations are in progress.

It may be recalled here that three persons including a child travelling in a train had died after a man had set fire to a compartment of the train at Kozhikode on April 2. Nine people were injured in this incident.
