Mangaluru, May 08, 2023: Issues related to male reproductive health are often under-addressed. Men at large try to avoid bringing up this topic. The Urologist engrossed in multiple subspecialties tends to overlook this subject and the students are less exposed to this topic. To highlight this medical problem, the department of Urology, KS Hegde Medical Academy, Nitte Deemed to be University organized the mid-term conference of Urological Association of Kerala on 7th May 2023. The theme of the event was “Andrology Tutalege”.  Dr. Rupin Shah, renowned Andrologist from Mumbai was the main resource person for the conference. He has covered the topic extensively and provided an update on this subject to the delegates.

The event was held at Avishkar Auditorium of K S Hegde Hospital, Deralakkatte. The honorable Pro-vice chancellor of Nitte Deemed to be University Prof. Dr. M Shantharam Shetty was the chief guest for the inaugural function and reiterated the younger generation about the need for sub-specialty training. Dr. Avudiappan (President of Association of Southern Urologists), Dr. Felix Cardoza (President, Urological Association of Kerala), Dr. GG Laxman Prabhu (Secretary, Urological Society of India) were the guests of honor. The welcome address was given by Dr. Rajeev TP, Professor and Head of Department of Urology, KSHEMA.  The secretary of UAK, Dr. Vijay Radhakrishnan delivered vote of thanks. The event was attended by more than 125 delegates from different parts of the country.
