Two Mangalureans returning from Bengaluru Kambala killed in tragic road accident

Bengaluru, Nov 26, 2023: A tragic collision between a borewell lorry and a car has resulted in the loss of two lives and left three others with serious injuries. The unfortunate event unfolded as the victims were heading back to Mangalore after attending the Kambala event in Bengaluru, turning what should have been a routine journey into a somber occasion.

The deceased have been identified as Kishan Shetty (20), a resident of Bajpe in Mangalore and Philip Neri (32), hailing from Bhattar Thota village in Dakshina Kannada district.

Tragically, the car with its occupants was crushed under the force of the lorry, putting a grim end to what should have been a joyous return from the Kambala event in Bengaluru. The three survivors, critically injured in the accident, are currently receiving medical attention at Adichunchanagiri Hospital.

Law enforcement swiftly responded to the scene, taking the lorry and its driver into custody and have registered a case at the Kunigal police station regarding the incident.
