Mangaluru, Sep 22, 2023: The CCB sleuths arrested two drug peddlers for selling MDMA (Methylene dioxy methamphetamine), a synthetic drug at KS Rao road in Mangaluru city.
These arrests followed the acquisition of reliable information indicating that these individuals were illicitly selling banned substances along K S R Road. The suspects in custody have been identified as P.S. Abdul Azeez (31) from Uppinangady and Akshith Kumar (26) residence of Katipalla, Surathkal.
During the operation, law enforcement officers confiscated a total of 35 grams of MDMA, with an estimated street value of Rs 1,75,000. Additionally, they seized two mobile phones, Rs 600 in cash, and a digital weighing scale from the suspects, collectively valued at Rs 1,96,000.
A case related to this incident has been officially registered at the Mangaluru North Police Station. Given the suspicion of the involvement of additional individuals in this drug peddling operation, the police are actively pursuing further leads.
Notably, Abdul Azeez, also known as Azeez, has a history of involvement in three drug peddling cases previously registered at Uppinangady, Vitla and Urwa police stations. Despite being released on bail approximately 15 days ago, he has once again become embroiled in drug-related activities.
