Udupi Beach Utsav-2013 inaugurated with fanfare

Udupi, Jan 20, 2012: The Udupi Beach Utsav 2013 organised by the Udupi Utsav Samithi was inaugurated with much fanfare at the Malpe-Vadabhandeshwar beach on January 19, Saturday. The Utsav has been jointly sponsored by the Udupi CMC.

The Beach Utsav has been attracting hundreds of people of all age groups. A variety of food stalls, entertainment programmes, folk and traditional games all have added to the lively atmosphere at the Beach Utsav venue.

The Utsav was inaugurated by Upendra Nayak, President of the Udupi Zilla Panchayat. Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde, Coastal Development Authority Chairman, who was present as a chief guest, said the Authority has several programmes on anvil to boost tourism and was even planning a convention of investors.

Among others present on the occasion were Kiran Kumar, Udupi CMC Chairman, Bharathi Chandrashekhar, Vice President and Gokuldas Nayak, CMC Commissioner
Various contests like boat race, tug of water, sand sculpture swimming, fishing , cycling and beack Kabaddi were conducted.
