Udupi: CM Siddaramaiah pays surprise visit to post-matric, pre-matric girls’ hostels

Udupi, Aug 02, 2023: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who was in Udupi on August 1 for a progress review meeting, paid a surprise visit to the Devaraj Urs Backward Classes Post Matric Hostel at Bannanje and another Pre-Matric girls’ hostel run by the Social Welfare Department. The CM who was proceeding to the DC office enroute stopped his vehicle near the hostels and paid a surprise visit along with Minister for Women and Child Development Laxmi Hebbalkar.

 

 

As it was lunch time at the hostel, most of the girls were in the hostel. The CM spoke to the inmates of the hostel about the quality of food and other amenities. When girls at the post-matric hostel urged for laptops and tabs, the Chief Minister smilingly said that it will be provided.

The Chief Minister also spoke to the hostel staff.  The students at both the hostels were happy on seeing and interacting with the Chief Minister.

The CM later posed for a group photo with the hostel students.
