Udupi, Dec 29, 2022: Udupi District Superintendent of Police Akshay Hakay Machhindra has issued New year Guidelines to be followed by the public across the district mandatorily. The SP also said additional personnel will be deployed to ensure law and order.
He said all Covid-19 related guidelines must be adhered to during the New Year celebrations and all celebrations must end by 1 am on January 1.
Event organisers at pubs, restaurants, clubs and resorts must ensure the occupancy is not above the total capacity and also make arrangements to prevent any electricity related mishaps or fire mishaps.
All New Year events organised for public by the hotels, restaurants, pubs and other places must mandatorily obtain permission from the respective police stations and the organisers must depute male and female security personnel, the SP said.
New Year celebrations are not allowed in public places like roads, beaches, footpaths, bus stands and parks. Those celebrating in public places by consuming intoxicants and those who misbehave with women will face stern action. Similarly drunken driving will also face action, he added.
