Udupi: Social activist Nityananda Olakadu offers Urulu Seve to protest bad road

Udupi, Sep 13, 2022: Udupi’s social activist Nityananda Olakadu staged a novel protest against the deplorable condition of the road near Indrali bridge on the Udupi-Manipal National Highway. On September 13, Tuesday,he offered a Urulu Seve on the pathetic road after offering Arathi and breaking a coconut.

Speaking on the occasion, he said no one is questioning the state of the road since the past three years. Thousands are using this road everyday and even the Chief Minister has travelled on this road. But none have taken note of its condition, he regretted.

People of Udupi are innocent and are not questioning anyone for the sorry state of the roads. There are no street lights and this has also claimed lives of many cattle and those who claim themselves to be cattle protectors have not bothered, he said.

It may be recalled here that the sorry state of affairs of the road near Indrali bridge is also paving way for a number of accidents.
