udupi arrest12july9Udupi, July 9, 2012: The Udupi police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of a 75-year-old woman. 


The arrested is Annappa Poojary (32), son of Eshwara of Santhekatte. 


According to the police, Annappa and an accomplice killed Radhu Karkera (75), who used to live alone in her house in Ammunje, and stole gold jewelry worth Rs. 1.5 lakh. 


Annappa has already confessed to the crime. He said that he had been to Radhu Karkera’s house to cut a tree and saw a gold chain round her neck. He got the help of an accomplice and killed her for her jewelry.
