Udupi quadruple murder case: Weapon and other materials recovered

Mangaluru, Nov 19, 2023: Over the course of Friday and Saturday, the Udupi district police confiscated a weapon and various items believed to be linked to the recent murder of Haseena and her children-Afnan, Aynaz, and Asim-from a residence in Bejai, Mangaluru. The recovery operation took place during the presence of the accused, Praveen Arun Chowgale, who was taken to the flat where he had been residing. The seized items include the car, mask, and other materials purportedly used by Chowgale in the commission of the crime.


Udupi murder case: Weapon seized


On the same day, Haseena’s husband, Mohammed Noor, and their son Asad visited Udupi Superintendent of Police K. Arun to express their gratitude for the swift action taken by the Udupi police in apprehending the alleged assailant.

On November 12, the accused Praveen Arun Chougule (39) had entered Aynaz’s house and allegedly hacked her to death along with her mother Haseena, 40, and her siblings Afnan, 23, and Asim, 12 who rushed to her aid during the assault. Chowgale was arrested on November 15.
