Ullal: Five arrested, including two minors, in Dharmanagar gold jewellery theft case

Mangaluru, July 7, 2024: Police have arrested five people, including two minors, in connection with the theft of gold jewellery worth over fifteen lakh rupees in Dharmanagar, under the Ullal police station’s jurisdiction, on Saturday, July 6.

The accused, identified as Shreyas Beltangady, Prithviraj Urva and Tauseef Beltangady, along with two minors, were taken into custody. The stolen gold jewellery, which had been sold to various jewelry shops in Mangaluru, was recovered.

 

Dharmanagar gold jewellery theft case


The theft took place at the house of Sridhar, a resident of Dharmanagar, between 8 AM on June 8 and 12 PM on June 16. Sridhar filed a complaint with the Ullal police station, stating that gold jewellery, including a gold chain, necklace, bracelet, rings, earrings, and bangles weighing over 32 pavans and valued at over fifteen lakh rupees, was stolen from a cupboard in his bedroom.

Following Sridhar’s complaint, a case was registered at the Ullal police station. The investigation, led by Ullal Police Inspector Balakrishna and under the guidance and direction of Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police Siddharth Goyal, Deputy Commissioner of Police B.P. Dinesh Kumar, and ACP South Dhanya Nayak, resulted in the arrest of the accused.
