Ullal : Notorious rowdy sheeter hacked to death by unidentified assailants

Mangalore, Sep 5, 2013  : A notorious rowdy sheeter from Ullal has been brutally murdered by unidentified assailants near Madyar Junction on September 4, Wednesday night.

The deceased is Neelesh alias Neelu Poojari (38). The incident occurred at around 10.30 pm when  Neelesh was near the Madyar Junction as usual. It is learnt, Neelesh who saw a car moving that way suspiciously followed it in his Alto car. As his car  neared the  Madyar Temple,  the car which was ahead  stopped all of a sudden and a five member gang which alighted hacked  Neelesh to death with swords  before fleeing the scene.

 

There is a suspicion that  rowdy sheeter Santhu and his aides were  behind the killing. Sources said vain bid on the life of Neelesh had been made on two earlier occasions too.

 The body has been  shifted to Wenlock for post mortem. ACP Kavitha and other officials visited the scene of the crime. Meanwhile locals said the Ullal Circle Inspector did not turn up at the spot.

Local MLA and Health Minister UT Khader visited the hospital. A personal rivalry is suspected to be the cause of the murder. Investigations are underway.
