Mangaluru, Sep 19, 2022: Former union minister and veteran Billawa leader B Janardhana Poojary has said that the Mangaluru Dasara celebrations will be celebrated in a unique way this year. It may be recalled here that the Covid-19 pandemic had prevented grand celebrations during the past two years.
Speaking to reporters on September 18, Sunday, Poojary said the Chief Minister will be extended an invitation to participate and hoped he will visit the shrine during the Dasara festivities.
Poojary said the number of people who will participate in this year’s Dasara would be more and said the city will be specially illuminated during the festivities.
During the Dasara celebrations this year, a silver peetha costing Rs 12 lakhs will be offered to Goddess Sharada. A family of devotees will also be offering a silver Veena to the Goddess.
The celebrations this year will be held from September 26 to October 6, informed Temple Committee Treasurer Padmaraj Karkera.
