Uppinangady: Sweets shop gutted in fire mishap

Uppinangady, December 27, 2024: A sweets shop near the Uppinangady bus stand was gutted in a fire late night on Thursday night.
The mishap took place after the owner closed the shop and left home. Locals who noticed smoke from inside the shop, immediately alert the owner who rushed to the shop and opened the shutter. However by then the fire had engulfed the entire shop. Many fried bakery products is learnt to have led to the intensity of the fire. Fire tender vehicles from Belthangady and Puttur rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
The loss has been estimated at several lakhs of rupees.
