Veerendra Heggade chosen for Padma Vibhushan; Padmashree for Mohandas Pai

Mangaluru, Jan 26, 2015: Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala has been chosen for the prestigious Padma Vibhushan Award, while TV Mohandas Pai, Chairman of Manipal Global Education has been chosen for the Padma Shri.

Dr Heggade who is one among the nine Padma Vibhushan Awardees has been chosen for the Award for his contribution in the field of social work.

Pai who is among the 75 Padma Shri Awardees has been chosen in the trade and industry category.

Dr Heggade who has expressed his pleasure over his being chosen for the prestigious award said “The Award has increased the responsibilities on my shoulder.” He also stated that the Award has brought happiness to the nearly 20,000 people working in several institutions run by the Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala. “I share the honour of this Award with all of them.” said Heggade.
