Vote for Congress, get corruption- free government - U. T. Khader

Mangalore, Dec 27: MLA U. T. Khader told reporters during a press meet held at the district office of the Congress party on Dec 27 that people must understand the psychology of political parties and vote for the Congress to get a government free of corruption.

He further urged the public to unite and work hard to bring down the BJP-led state government on Jan 6, 2011 after the Taluk Panchayath and Zilla Panchayath elections are announced.

 

 

Listing the shortcomings of the state government, he said that the state government has not only failed to publish an appendix after the budget of 2010 – 11, but also called for tenders without releasing the appendix, which is against the rules. To make matters worse, CM B. S. Yeddyurappa has given the tender to his own people, he said, urging the people to vote for the Congress to defeat the corrupt BJP government.

He also said that the state government has not released the Rs. 17 crore mentioned in the budget to provide free computer courses in schools and has sanctioned only Rs. 3 crore of the promised fund. Accusing the JD (S) of helping the BJP to come to power, he expressed confidence that the Congress will win all the 4 seats in his constituency.

Congress leaders Ivan D’Souza, Shareef, T. K. Sudhir, and others were also present.
