The perpetrators of this brutal act include Ashraf’s wife, Afreen, as well as her mother and father, all of whom played a role in this disturbing incident.

The story begins with the marriage of Asif (22), a resident of Karkala taluk, and Afreen, a native of Manipura and the daughter of Hussain, who hails from Gujji in Manipura village. Their union took place approximately 11 months ago, and initially, Afreen resided with Mohammed Asif for just one and a half months. Subsequently, she returned to her parents’ home in Manipura, and Asif followed suit, living with his wife at his in-laws’ place for the past nine months.

Tensions within their relationship began to escalate, with Afreen harboring suspicions of her husband’s involvement in an extramarital affair, resulting in frequent quarrels between the couple. On September 17, at approximately 6:45 pm, the situation took a horrifying turn when Afreen confronted Asif while he was in the midst of a bath. In a shocking act of violence, she knocked on the bathroom door and proceeded to pour a scalding mixture of hot water and chili powder on her husband.

The incident has been reported to the authorities, and a case has been filed at the Kaup police station.
