Mangalore, Feb 4, 2013: “We are not against anybody, But we think of universal welfare on the lines of the preachings of Swami Vivekananda,” said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Chief Mohan Bhagwat.
He was addressing a mammoth gathering of RSS volunteers at the Kenjar Grounds at Bajpe in the outskirts of Mangalore on the evening of February 3, Sunday as part of the Vibhag Sanghik of the RSS.
Bhagwat further said the programme was held to help people understand the vision and mission of the RSS. Clarifying that the programme was not a show of strength, the R SS chief said the RSS has emerged stronger over the years through its selfless service and added its social service activities itself was its strength.
Expressing his pleasure to see such a large gathering of RSS volunteers, Bhagwat said the programme was being organised to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and exhorted the volunteers to realize the vision of the great personality.
The RSS Chief also spoke in length on the ideals advocated and the message of Swami Vivekananda and exhorted RSS volunteers to stand up and fight against any problem. There is a need to unite India for which we will have to sacrifice a lot, the R SS chief said.
Just like Swami Vivekananda, the RSS too considers Bharath Matha as supreme, Bhagwat said “ Our life is spent in serving our Hindu nation. We pray to God to bless the country with virtues of knowledge and selflessness,” he said.
He exhorted the RSS members to follow the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and translate it into action and claimed that RSS has worked to realize the dream of Swami Vivekananda.
Mohan Bhagwat spoke in Hindi and his speech was translated into Kannada by Sudhir.
Dr Vaman Shenoy, Mangalore Vibagh Sanghachalak, Suresh Joshi, Venkatramu Mysore Karnataka Dakshina Prantha Sanghachalak were on the dais along with Bhagwat.
Several leaders including Kota Srinivas Poojari, DV Sadananda Gowda, Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat, Kajampady Subrahmanya Bhat, Krishnappa, Sooryanarayana Rao and others were present.
