Just a century ago, Tulunad was a very poor region, but today it is rich and prosperous. It is now the seat of several nationalized banks, which are now in excellent financial health and are also able to handle recession. The agricultural sector faces some problems. The quality of the agricultural produce is very low; moreover the sector can survive only with the help of government subsidy. He urged the state government to support the farmers of Tulunad and to provide them with subsidy to enhance the quality and quantity of their milk and agricultural products.
The most fascinating showcase was the convention venue - Ajjarakallu Tulu Grama, is an effort to recreate Tulu village in a 10-acre-land. The village is almost a replica of the ancient Tulunadu. The structures were created by the artists toiling for months. The creations are designed by eminent artist Jagadish Ammunje and his team. The speciality is that each house in the village has been brought to life by actors, trained under theatre director Jeevanram Sullia.
Books on Tulu literature were exhibited showcasing ancient agricultural, tradition and a variety of household tools of Tuluva culture.
