Mangaluru, Dec 15, 2016: A media note indicates, Dr. T.M.A. Pai Chair for Indian Literature, Manipal University, will organise a Yakshagana Tala Maddale — “Kelu Kunthi Katheya” (listen to the story of Kunthee) at the Nutana Ravindra Mantapa on MGM College campus here at 4 p.m. on December 18.
“Artistes like Vidwan Ganapathi Bhat, N.G. Hegde, M.L. Samaga, Jabbar Samo, Vasudeva Ranga Bhat, and Prashanth Beloor will participate. It is intended to explore the contemporary social problem of forsaking newborn babies by anonymous mothers through the story of Kunthi in the traditional format of Yakshagana Tala Maddale,” said Vaidehi, writer and president of Dr. T.M.A Pai Chair for Indian Literature.
