Mangalore, Feb 22, 2012:Varun Gandhi, Pilibhit MP and BJP leader, paid a visit to Lord Kukke Subrahmanya Temple on Feb 21 Tuesday.
Interacting with reporters, he said that the future of India and its all-round development lies in the hands of its youth. He urged young leaders to cleanse the administration and strive for clean and transparent governance. He also said that the youth must be given posts of responsibility in politics.
Varun Gandhi offered Shesha Seve, Ashlesha Bali, and Maha Puja in the temple. Satyanarayana Noorittaya, the temple priest, honored him by draping a shawl around his shoulders.
The BJP leader had arrived at Mangalore via a flight from Bangalore with his associates Anubhav Poddar and Kameshwar Varma. He reached Kukke Subrahmanya Temple late on Monday and was welcomed by A. C. Sundar Bhat, the assistant commissioner of Puttur and temple administrative officer; Vydyanath, the tahsildar; M. H. Ravindra, the assistant executive officer of the temple; A. Venkatraj, the protocol officer; and Dinesh B. N., the local BJP leader.
Later, he paid a visit to Subrahmanya Mutt and worshipped Lord Narasimhaswamy. Shri Vidyaprasannateertha Swamiji of Subrahmanya Mutt offered him prasadam. He had breakfast at the temple and then visited Adi Subrahmanya.
Varun Gandhi said that he will come again with his mother, who had visited the temple 3 months back. Stating that this was a private visit to seek the blessings of God, he urged photographers and media people not to take his photos.
