Youth Assaulted by locals in Bantwal for allegedly sending obscene messages

Bantwal, April 6, 2025: A 20-year-old youth was assaulted by locals at Kudthamugairu in Kolnadu village on Friday, April 5, after he was allegedly found harassing young women by sending obscene messages and making inappropriate video call requests.

The youth, identified as Savad, a resident of Panjaje in Kanyana, was reportedly working at a clothing store in Koramangala, Bengaluru. According to sources, he had been contacting several young women via mobile phone, sending vulgar messages and pressuring them to engage in late-night video calls, often making obscene demands.

Upon learning of his actions, a group of local youths devised a plan to catch him. They contacted him using a phone number while pretending to be one of the victims. Believing he was communicating with a young woman, Savad agreed to meet at Kudthamugairu. When he arrived, he was confronted by the group, caught red-handed, and beaten up before being handed over to the police.
