Youth drowns in Netravathi river, another boy rescued

Bantwal, July 04, 2022: A 19 year old youth was washed away in the Netravathi river  at Talemogaru in Sajeepanadu of Bantwal   on July 3, Sunday. Another boy who was rescued has been  admitted to the hospital.

The youth who reportedly drowned and is missing is Ashwith (19), son of Rukmaya Sapalya. Harshith has been rescued. Vishal, Vikesh and Likhith who too had gone swimming had managed to swim ashore.

 The boys who had attended the naming ceremony of a baby in the house of Nagesh Sapalya of Talemogaru village had been to the river bank when  the mishap took place after the boys stepped into the water.

The search for Ashwith’s body till late night on Sunday proved futile.

Bantwal Rural Police have registered a case.
