Mangalore, Dec 8, 2012: The youth must try to understand the message and ideals of Swami Vivekananda in their true perspective, said JH Narayana Swamy, noted thinker.
Speaking at a state level seminar organised at St Aloysius College Auditorium in Mangalore on December8, Saturday to commemorate the150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, he accused the Sangh Parivar of using the name and image of Swami Vivekananda for its communal agenda.
Continuing, he said though Swami Vivekananda was strongly against the clergy controlling the society and exercising its power, what was happening at present was contrary to that. Referring to the case of Lingayat pontiffs influencing former CM Yeddyurappa, he said this was one instance to prove how the clergy was even controlling the political system.
