‘Parashurama’ statue missing at theme park!

Karkala, Oct 14, 2023: The huge statue of Parashurama at the Parashurama Theme Park atop the Umikal Hills near Bailur of Karkala taluk is missing! Congress leaders and many locals are alleging that the huge statue is missing.

If the statue was installed on January 27 last year, of late there had been many allegations that the statue was not made of bronze and there had been irregularities in the making of it.

 

Recently even Udupi District in-charge Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar had visited the spot and had discussed the issue with officials.

Meanwhile, the Karkala Tahsildar had issued an order last week banning entry of public and tourists to the park as the works relating to strengthening the statue, installing lightning arrester and also  providing it with an anti-rust coating had to be done.

Later, a black plastic sheet is seen covering the statue.

Meanwhile Congress leader and Councillor Shubhada Rao has allege that the fake statue has been removed from the place. He said earlier even amid the plastic sheet one could see some parts of the statue and now it was not to be seen.

He also blamed the sitting MLA  for the irregularities in the installation of the statue and warned of protesting until a bronze statue is installed.
