‘Yuva Kalamani 2019’ and ‘Dr Mani Krishnaswami’ awards to young artistes

Mangaluru, Nov 11 2019:  Young talented artistes Aneesh V Bhat from Puttur and Atreyi Krishna from Karkala were presented with ‘Yuva Kalamani 2019’ and ‘Dr Mani Krishnaswami’ awards respectively, during Raga Sudha Rasa, a national-level Sangeethotsava programme held at Town Hall in Mangaluru.

 

Yuva Kalamani award is instituted by Mani Krishnaswami Academy and ‘Dr Mani Krishnaswami’ award is instituted by Mani Krishnaswami Foundation, Chennai.

Speaking after accepting the award, Aneesh Bhat and Atreyi echoed, “The support from Guru and guidance from parents helped us achieve success.” 

Blessing the programme, Odiyooru Sri Gurudevadatta Samsthana Seer Gurudevananda Swami said, “One can achieve success in music only through practice. One can not learn minute details of music without practice and hard work.”

“One need to have thorough knowledge on ‘Raga’ and ‘Tala’ to excel in Music,” the seer added.

Kannada Sahitya Parishat former president Harikrishna Punaroor said, “There is a need to support young talents.”
