’Clean Mangalore’ campaign launched in city

Mangalore, May 3:  Nearly hundred followers of Matha Amritanandamayi, who is well known for her social service and spiritual activities, participated in the ’Clean Mangalore’ campaign on Tuesday, May 3. The campaign was conducted as part of Matha Amritanandamayi’s dream project ‘Amala Bharatam’.


 

 

 

 

 

 


Amma, who was in the city for two days, had initiated the cleanliness drive in co-operation with the district administration to make the city as beautiful as Singapore in another one year.


In her visit to Mangalore, She had distributed hand kerchiefs and book marks with the theme of ‘cleanliness’ to the students of Amrita Vidyalayam and asked her followers to love and preserve nature.

 

 

 

 

 

 


She asked the people not to hand over the nature to the next generation in diapidated state. “We should love people and use objects, but unfortunately we are doing vice versa. That is why the social harmony and family relationships are on the verge of decay,” claimed.


The main purpose of the campaign was to abolish mosquito breeding places and also to maintain a clean environment said her followers.


Mayor Praveen, Health officers Manjayya Shetty,  Basavraj, Corporators Naveen , Ganesh Hosbettu, were present.
