Chikkamagaluru, January 22, 2025: "If there are internal differences in the opposition party, it will only affect the party itself. However, if there are differences within the ruling party, it will impact governance and lead to an increase in robbery cases," said Karnataka BJP MP Kota Srinivas Poojary.

"If there is a tug-of-war within the ruling party, government schemes will not reach the people. If the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Home Minister themselves are caught up in power struggles, governance will lose its grip. Robbers will act freely," he said to reporters on Tuesday.

"Instead of deploying police to disrupt traditional Yakshagana performances, focusing more on those committing robberies would allow the people of the state to live in peace," he added.

"There is now a trend in politics where those released from jail are garlanded. A strong opposition has the responsibility to focus more on truth-seeking. Even within the BJP, disputes over power and key positions have arisen. However, this will not have a significant impact on the people but will affect our struggle," he said.

"In a day or two, we will recover and stand strong. We are strongly presenting the government’s flaws to the people and will continue to do so. Unfortunately, the rulers have turned a blind eye and a deaf ear," he remarked.

"If there are differences within the ruling party, the system will become irreparably damaged. Therefore, the government must set aside differences and focus more on governance. Otherwise, the number of robbers will increase," he warned.

The lawmaker’s statement comes amid the Kotekar cooperative society robbery in Mangaluru where a suspect assaulted three cops while trying to flee but was shot in the leg.
