Mangaluru, Feb 4, 2016 : Nrityaangan, Mangaluru is organizing SAMARPAN 2016 – A Tribute Late Guru Padmini Ramachandran. This dance festival is scheduled to be held at Don Bosco Hall, Balmatta, Mangaluru, on 6th & 7h February 2016, 5.30 PM.
The event will be inaugurated by Shri. Chandrashekara Navada – Director, Sri Natyanjali Kala Academy, Suratkal, Smt. Sharadamani Shekar – Guru, Sanathana Natyalaya, Mangaluru, Shri Chandrahas Rai – Assistant Director, Department of Kannada & Culture, D.K..
Established artistes of international repute, Divya Devaguptapu - USA, Jyotsna Jagannathan – Bengaluru, Lakshmi Vishwanathan & Ameena Shanavas – Kochi, Dr. Arupa Lahiry– Kolkata, Dr. Anwesa Mahanta – New Delhi are performing as part of Samarpan 2016. Budding performers of
Mangaluru & Udupi, Deepa Santhosh, Pranathi Acharya, Anjali Pilikudale & Thanmayi Alva will showcase their talent during this 2-day festival. Samarpan 2016 is supported by Department of Kannada & Culture, Bengaluru & Karnataka Bank.
Nrityaangan - An over view :
Nrityaangan is a registered charitable trust founded by danseuse Radhika Shetty, based out of Mangaluru. The trust aims at spreading and propagating the art form in and around Mangaluru by organizing workshops & dance festivals that will nurture the next generation of artistes and provide them with performance opportunities. The organization aspires to organize various workshops, seminars, National Level Dance festivals by local, upcoming and established artistes in the country.
Samarpan is an attempt by Nrityaangan to provide a stage for local artistes to exhibit their talent and prowess in Indian Classical Dance. The performances by internationally reputed artistes will provide the local students and admirers of dance with the necessary exposure and will help enhance their knowledge of the arts.
