158 kg single use plastic seized from shops in Manipal

Udupi, July 21, 2023: In a drive against the banned single use plastics, the officials of Udupi CMC have seized single use plastic weighing 158 kilos and have imposed a fine of Rs 24,000 on the erring shopkeepers of Manipal on July 20, Thursday.

 

So far in the month of July, officials have seized 262 kilos of banned plastic items and have collected a fine of Rs 54,500.

Environmental engineer of Udupi CMC and health inspectors were part of the drive.
