2 cases against Chaitra Kundapur for provocative speech

Mangaluru, Oct 07, 2021: Congress leader Bondala Chittaranjan Shetty has lodged a complaint at the Suratkal police station against Chaitra Kundapur alleging that she had delivered an inflammatory and provocative speech during a  Hindu Jana Jagrithi rally held at Suratkal  on October 5.

In his complaint,  Shetty said Chaitra’s speech  aimed at spreading communal hatred and she had hurt the sentiments of the people of the region by drawing parallels between the weapons used by folk legends Koti-Chennaya  and  the machetes used by rowdy elements. He demanded legal action against her for the remarks.

She further alleged that Chaitra had raised personal issues of Congress leaders in her speech and has offended them.

A person named Abdul Khader too has lodged a complaint against Chaitra at Suratkal police station, alleging that her speech was communally provocative.
