2 die, several injured as bus falls into gorge in Charmadi Ghat

Belthangady, May 16, 2017 :Two persons lost their lives when a private bus on way to Mangaluru from Chikkamagaluru  fell into a gorge  on the Charmadi Ghat Road on May 16, Tuesday. Several passengers in the bus sustained injuries.

The mishap occurred on the third curve of the Ghat. The Kerala origin bus bearing registration number K L 16, 2617 had around 40 passengers.

The injured passengers have been rushed to hospitals with the help of locals. Efforts are on to lift the bus from the gorge using a crane.

Dharmasthala police are at the spot.
