2 people die in tempo – bike collision in Belthangady

Belthangady, Nov 3, 2011: Two people died on the spot when a goods tempo hit their bike on Nov 3 Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Belthangady.

The deceased are Harish, a pick-up driver, and Uday, a cable operator, both from Kalladka. The two were on their way from Kalladka to BC Road, when a goods tempo came on the wrong side of the road and rammed into them. The two fell off and were immediately crushed under the tempo. The saddest part of the accident was that the two were on their way to attend a wedding in BC Road.

Reportedly, the driver of the tempo had lost balance and had moved too much to the right side of the road. After hitting the bike, the tempo moved forward, hit a tree, and came to a stop. The driver and cleaner of the tempo fled immediately. The tempo is a vehicle belonging to Reliance.

Vivekananda, the sub inspector of Bantwal, and many other police officers rushed to the scene of accident. Vehicles were prevented from entering the road for a long time. The Bantwal police have registered a case.
