2 youth rescue elderly citizen who accidentally fell into river

Vittal, October 7, 2024: An elderly citizen who lost balance and fell into an overflowing river was rescued by two youth near the Surambadka vented dam in Vittal on Sunday.

Ummar (70) was walking on the bridge without railings and fell into the river during heavy rains.

Local residents Ashok and Suresh who saw Ummar falling into the river, wasted no time and plunged into the river. They were ably assisted by locals in rescuing the elderly citizen. The great presence of mind of the two youngsters has been widely hailed.
