3-day Kannada drama festival inaugurated at Town Hall

Mangalore, Dec 22: The Mangalore-based Kannada and Culture Department, Bangalore-based Karnataka Drama Academy, and Suvarna Pratishtana organized the 3-day Karnataka Natakotsava, which was inaugurated at Town Hall on Dec 21, Tuesday.

A play called “Urulu” was performed on Tuesday; and “Male Nilluvavarege” will be performed on Dec 22, Wednesday and “Court Marshall” will be performed on Dec 23, Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Sadananda Suvarna has directed all the 3 dramas.


Dr. B. V. Rajaram, the president of the Bangalore-based Karnataka Drama Academy, inaugurated the 3-day event and urged all drama lovers to extend their support to the event. 


Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director Mangala Naik presided over the programme.


The valedictory ceremony will be held on Dec 23, Thursday at 6:30 p.m.; and Girish Kasaravalli, the film director will preside over the event. The chief guests will be Dr. Siddalinga Pattana Shetty, the litterateur, and Mangala Naik.
