Mangalore, June 23: Gregory Patrao’s fight for justice, supported by a large number of people and 23 organizations, is now in its 7th day. Today, the protest was staged by the Catholic Sabha of Mangalore under the leadership of President Walter Cyril Pinto and Secretary Godwin Pinto. A large number of Christian organizations such as Catholic Sabha, Citizens Forum for Mangalore Development, Vimukthi Trust, Bandavya Trust, and Canara Organization for Development and Peace are supporting Patrao in his fight for justice.
The Bishop of Mangalore Dioceses Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza arrived in front of the DC’s office, where the protest is being held, and blessed the efforts of Patrao and his supporters. In his protest speech, the bishop urged everybody to follow the example of Jesus Christ, who condemned injustice and fought for justice. Clarifying that the organization is not against development, but only against illegal activities in the name of development, the bishop assured Patrao of his whole-hearted support.
