8 students arrested for assault, threatening

Mangaluru, May 30, 2022: Eight students of a private college at Balmatta in Mangaluru have been arrested on charges of assaulting and threatening another student of the same institution over a dispute that arose during a cultural programme in the campus.

 

A gang of twelve  had reportedly barged into the apartment of a Kerala native student named Shabab (21) who stayed at an apartment at  Chilimbi on the night of May 28 and had  threatened  him by wielding lethal weapons.

Those arrested are  Mohammed Afreesh (21), Sunaif (21), Sheikh Mohiuddin (20), Ibrahim Raji (20), Mohammed Sinan Abdulla (21), Mohammed Asham (21), Mohammed Afam Aslam (20) and Mohammed Syed Afreed (21). Four other accused are absconding.
