Mangalore, Feb 7, 2014: Mangalore: State Minister for Higher Education and Tourism RV Deshpande inaugurated the Pilikula Nisargadhama Resort at Pilikula in the outskirts of the city on February 7, Friday.
In his address, the Minister said tourism is a thriving industry which can boost the revenue of the government. He also said there were plans to invest as much as Rs 73000 crores in the tourism sector during the next ten year period. This in turn will generate a host of employment opportunities, he said.
While pointing out that the coastal district had immense tourism potential, the minister at the same time cited the CRZ regulations which come in the way at some places.
State Minister for Forest and Ecology and DK District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai, JR Lobo, MLA of Mangalore South, Anur Reddy, Managing Director of Jungle Lodges Resort and Avtar Singh, its Executive Director were among those present on the dais.
Amenities: Jungle Lodges and Resorts will offer 21 twin bed accommodations comprising eight cottages and two executive cottages, six deluxe rooms, two suites and three Ayurveda cottages at Pilikula.
Anur Reddy, MD of Jungle Resorts said the bookings have begun and the resort will be open from February 15.
