A new land acquisition law to be introduced very soon: Veerappa Moily

Mangalore, December 28: M Veerappa Moily, Union Law minister, said that  thecentral government will introduce new land acquisition law very soon in the country. He was interacting with the media persons in the city on Tuesday, December 28.

He said that the centre has decided to bring in amendment to Land Acquisition Act soon. The new land acquisition law will protect the land of farmers. The new land acquisition act will keep the farmers in safer side and prevent forceful land acquisition as well,” he added.

The central government promised to bring the Land Acquisition Amendment Bill in parliament’s winter session after Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in August. A bill in this regard would be tabled in the parliament in the next budget session, he said.
