Aashna Rai is NCC India’s youth ambassador at YEP 2023-24 in Vietnam

Mangaluru, July 18, 2023: Aashna Rai, an 18-year-old first-year BA student at St Aloysius College in Mangaluru, has been chosen as India’s youth ambassador to represent the country at the Youth Exchange Program (YEP) 2023-24 event in Vietnam. Aashna, who is an NCC Airwing Cadet from the 6 Karnataka Air Squadron, is part of a delegation of 13 cadets selected from different regions of India.

Originally from Mangaluru, Aashna spent 12 years studying abroad in Bahrain and Qatar before returning to India in the sixth grade. During her time at Canara High School CBSE, she held leadership positions as the vice sports house captain and head girl in the 10th grade. Her outstanding performance earned her the title of the Best Outgoing Student during her tenure there.

Aashna’s journey as a cadet began in the Junior Wing, where she successfully completed her ’A’ Certificate from the 18 Kar Bn NCC. Continuing her studies at St Aloysius PU College, she was elected as the class representative for two consecutive years. Progressing to become a Senior Wing Cadet at the 6 Kar Air Sqn, Aashna’s exceptional dedication led to her being recognized as the Best Cadet of Karnataka and Goa Directorate for the Republic Day Camp. Furthermore, she was honored with the All India Best Cadet Award by the Honorable Prime Minister of India during the Annual PM Rally in New Delhi in 2023.
