Abdul Salam murder case : Cops arrest 2 brothers in Allahabad

Kasargod, Aug 30, 2013 : The Kasargod and Kannur police have in a joint operation arrested two men from Allahabad who are said to be the accused in the case of murder of NRI businessman AB Abdul Salam Haji as well as burglary of his house at Vellappu, Trikkaripura   recently.

The arrested are Mohammad Askar and Mohammad Shihab,, both brothers hailing from Trissur. The police zeroed in on them when they were travelling in a bus on August 28, Wednesday.

It is learnt, the two had fled to Mumbai and from there to Kanpur after the murder. Police are on the lookout for three more accused in the case.

The incident was reported on the night of August 7 when  the family members of Haji had opened the doors thinking someone had arrived to receive Zakaath on account of Eid. It is learnt, the assailants who had killed Salam after tying down his family members  had fled in their car with a cash of Rs 30,000 apart from 1200 dirhams.
