Addressing the gathering on the occasion of the launch of the second edition of the Mangaluru Triathlon, Mr. Rao highlighted the underexplored tourism potential of Mangaluru and other locales within Dakshina Kannada. He stressed the importance of putting aside political differences to harness this untapped tourism potential, which could significantly contribute to the district’s development.

Mr. Rao also outlined plans for the September 27 workshop, where he will engage with a diverse group of stakeholders to discuss and plan various events, including surfing and triathlon, to be held throughout the year. He emphasized the need for detailed discussions and problem-solving to remove obstacles hindering the district’s growth. The government, he assured, will provide strong support for events like the 2nd edition of the Mangaluru Triathlon, recognizing the multiple benefits they bring to the residents of Dakshina Kannada.

Regarding the long-standing demand for a bridge connecting Sultan Battery and Tannirbhavi Beach, Mr. Rao explained that obtaining coastal regulation zone clearance remains a prerequisite for commencing the construction work.
