Adiga murder case: HC grants bail to accused Subrahmanya Udupa

subramanya 1Kundapur, March 7, 2013 : The Karnataka High Court, on March 6, Wednesday granted bail to Subrahmanya Udupa, accused in the case of murder of Vasudeva Adiga, an RTI activist.

The single bench of the High Court granted bail to the accused on a surety bond of Rs 2 lakh with signatures by two witnesses. Advocates Jagannath Alva and BV Acharya took up the case for Udupa.


During the earlier hearing on March 5, public prosecutor had opposed bail to Udupa citing that it may hinder investigation into the case.


As already reported, a total of seven persons   including Ramesh Bairi, an astrologer and neighbour of Udupa  have been arrested in the case. Adiga who was kidnapped on January 7 while he was on way home, was found murdered at Chikmagalur five days later.
