Matandoor in his complaint has alleged that  the photos were doctored and aimed at  sidelining him in the party. He has also sought legal action against those behind the viral videos.

Police have registered an FIR  under IT Act.

This development in the backdrop of the Assembly election is believed to be a setback to the ruling BJP in the state.

Meanwhile, sources reveal that this development was as a result of infighting in the BJP in order to mount pressure on the party high command  to deny him a ticket.

It may be recalled here that in the 2018 elections, Matandoor had defeated Shakuntala Shetty of the Congress to win Puttur constituency. Once earlier too there was a rumour regarding a private video of the BJP leader.

Meanwhile, it has been gathered that Hindu activist Arun Kumar and  Ashok Kumar, a businessman and a supporter of former CM D V Sadananda Gowda too are ticket aspirants from Puttur.
