Mangaluru, May 16, 2024: Former MLA BM Idinabba’s grandson Amar Abdul Rehman who was arrested by the NIA three years ago on the charges of having links with the terror outfit ISIS, has secured bail from the Delhi High Court. While granting bail, the court said that a person merely having the photos of ISIS flag and handout in his mobile cannot be an evidence to prove that he has links to ISIS.
Rehman was arrested under UAPA on August 21, 2021 from his house at Ullal. He had filed application for bail in the trial court but the same was rejected following which he moved the High Court which has now granted him bail.
Along with Rehman, the NIA had also arrested Deepti Marla alias Mariam who is the wife of Idinabba’s grandson Anas Abdul. It is learnt, Deepti is still in the custody of NIA.
